Dee Dee Perry While attending drama camp at age 12, Dee Dee Perry told a local reporter that she wanted to become a lawyer or an actress when she grew up. Now a graduate of Columbia College and Howard University School of Law, she runs a private law practice focusing on trust and estates, real estate, and small business advising. Artistically, she produced her first show, Robert Alexander's I Ain't Yo' Uncle in 2004, and later became backer of Off-Broadway and Broadway productions, including an Off-Broadway adaptation of A Picture of Dorian Gray in 2010, and the critically-acclaimed Broadway play, American Son, starring Kerry Washington in 2018, which was adapted for film on Netflix in 2019. In 2020 she co-founded DJDL Productions, a company devoted to telling stories that captivate the imagination, highlight a broad spectrum of talent, and explore the complexities and simplicities of humanity.
